Located at the foot of Xiangshan, the Xiangshan Museum of Founding of New China was officially opened to the public on September 13, 2019. It was awarded the China Construction Engineering Luban Prize (National Prime-quality Project) and named a “New Landmark of Beijing” by the media. It has been a significant venue to give a concentrated display of the revolutionary history of Xiangshan, to inherit and promote the red revolution-themed culture of Beijing as China’s capital, and to strengthen education on patriotism and revolutionary traditions. The Museum features the basic exhibition of “Laying the Foundation for New China—The CPC Central Committee at Xiangshan.” It is the only large-scale exhibition in China that comprehensively displays the glorious history of the CPC Central Committee during its stationing at Xiangshan, with over 800 pictures and 1,200 artifacts on display. It was granted the special award of the 17th (2019) National Museum Top Ten Exhibitions for Excellent Promotion.

“Stay true to our original purpose and firmly keep our mission in mind.” More than 70 years ago, when the central leadership of the CPC set off from its base in Xibaipo for Beijing, Comrade Mao Zedong (1893–1976, Chinese communist leader and founder of the PRC) said, “Today we are going to the capital to take the test.” The test is far from over, and we are always on the way to “take the test!” Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era, which marks the new historic orientation of China’s development. Let us unite more closely around the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, hold high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, adhere to Xi Jinping’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era as our guide, enhance the “Four Consciousnesses” (maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, uphold the leadership core, and keep in alignment with the central Party leadership), firmly establish the “Four Confidences”(have confidence in our path, guiding theories, political system, and culture),” and achieve the “Two Upholds (uphold Xi Jinping’s position as the core of the CPC Central Committee and the whole Party, as well as the authority of the CPC Central Committee and its centralized, unified leadership).” We will strive to start a new journey of building a modern socialist country in all aspects, to secure the great victory of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
